CHRISTIAN UNION

Introduction

Christian Union is a society that has kept AHS where it is in terms of spiritual growth. Its efforts of uniting all students in the school has greatly helped the institution in achieving academics excellence.

Membership

The society compress of those students who have dedicated their lives to Christ. The many members are led by a committee comprising of 13 form four students ranging from the chairman to the Evangelisms coordinator. The C.U committee is responsible for ensuring smooth running of the society.

Fellowships

This is a binding factor in the society where C.U members meet on a daily basis for fellowships. They normally take place as from 6:20 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.

It takes places in the following order:

  • Monday: class/form discussion
  • Tuesday: class/form discussion
  • Wednesday: praise and worship
  • Thursday: brief bible sharing
  • Friday: group discussion
  • Saturday: full service from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30pm
  • Sunday: film service/ CU movies immediately after supper.

Society activities

The society is involved in community service and social welfare of needy people not only within the school but also in the neighborhood. On Sundays after the service, a group of students volunteer to visit the Kikuyu Hospital where they pray for and encourage the sick. It also organizes visits to orphanages where they donate some materials support to those less advantaged children. On Sundays there is a group of chosen students as Sunday school teachers. They teach in various stations buildings them spiritually at   such a tender age. The society is involved in many others activities.
